Introduction

AIM Terminal’s facilities represents state of the art storage and bunkering technology, including; both in-tank and in-line blending, computerized gauging, heated lines and tanks so as to permit the supply of all grades of heavy fuel oil as well as marine gas, and dedicated and piggable lines to prevent cross product contamination.

Bunkering activities may be either by barge – alongside at PSA ADEN’s berth or outside-port for passing trade – or at AIM Terminal’s dedicated 229-meter dolphin.

AIM Terminal will undertake fuels trading operations, bunkering, storage lease and blending arrangements with interested third parties.

Facilities
The facilities consist of storage tanks, blending capabilities, a high flow rate (import and export) all being serviced be a dedicated dolphin (wharf). Tanks and pipelines are heated to allow the facility to handle HFO of upwards of 720cst. Pipes are dedicated to families of grades as well as being piggable thus preventing contamination.

Storage
AIM Terminal currently has on-stream 15 fuel storage tanks with a total storage capacity of 180,000 M³ or approximately 1.1 million barrels (bbl):

HFO STORAGE 80,692 M3 or 507,204 (bbl)
MDO STORAGE 65,050 M3 or 408,887 (bbl)
JET FUEL STORAGE 34,550 M3 or 217,181 (bbl)

Blending

  In-Tank Blending

AIM Terminal has four tanks with in-tank blending capabilities, the contents of which can be blended in a 24-hour period. This is geared to the rapid requirements of large scale HFO blending for fuels trading. Each of these four tanks has a capacity of 15,360 M3 or 96,548 (bbl), thus 61,440 M3 or 386,192 bbl can be blended in any 24-hour period.
  In-Line Blending

There is also the option of in-line blending for smaller blend requirements these can be blended at 1,272 M3/hour or 8,000bbl/hour.

Flow-Rates
Export and import flow-rates (depending on the product) are up to 1,272 M3/hour or 8,000bbl/hour.

Dolphin
AIM Terminal has a dedicated dolphin with operating on a 24-hour basis with the following applicable visiting vessel measurements:
Max LOA 240 Meters (787.402 ft.)
Max Draft 11.9 Meters (39.042 feet)
Max Displacement 40,000 tons
